Early Childhood Nonprofit Leaders Academy
The Early Childhood Nonprofit Leaders Academy is a cohort-based learning experience designed for nonprofit leaders at varying levels of life and nonprofit experience. The examples, stories, and language used in the training series, what I tend to call "early-childhood-speak", are most applicable to those who have worked in early childhood focused agencies, those serving pregnant women and parents of young children, and those whose work supports little ones and their families. In each session, we will walk together through conversations covering topics critical to nonprofit leaders whose work focuses on supporting infants, young children, their families, and communities. We will utilize a peer learning approach, sharing our own experiences as we delve into topics critical to our growth and development as nonprofit leaders. The Academy is pleased to offer two multi-session learning experiences that build upon each other.
“THE BRIDGE - PART ONE”, 4 sessions will cover the basics of Raising a Nonprofit.
“THE JOURNEY - PART TWO”, 4 sessions will provide a deeper dive and build on the concepts learned in THE BRIDGE, which is a prerequisite.
• Leadership, communication, and accountability
• Speaking the language of nonprofits
• Creating culture
• Relationship-based approaches for leadership, funding, staffing, collaboration, and program impact
• Communication with your board, funders, and partners
• Magic math (aka nonprofit budgeting) - determining the true cost of your programmatic impact and operational support needs
• Healthy board development - governance, operations, and board/executive staff interactions
• Life cycle and developmental phases for nonprofits. Where does your organization sit on the developmental scale?
• Planning and strategic thinking
• Intentional serendipity. Creating your own serendipitous opportunities
$300 per participant for “THE BRIDGE - PART ONE” (4 learning sessions of up to 15 participants.)
$300 per participant for “THE JOURNEY - PART TWO” (4 learning sessions of up to 12 participants.)

I am the founding Executive Director (ED), now Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of an early childhood focused nonprofit which has grown from a startup to a $4.2 million budget in 5 years.
I have served on many boards, including on the board of an international nonprofit with an early childhood, family, and systems development focus.
