Ways We Can Work Together
No two organizations are exactly alike, and neither are their needs.
Some engagements are a single conversation or facilitated retreat.
Others involve working together over several months.
A Little Experience.
A Lot of Curiosity.
And a Willingness to Figure Things Out Together.
Raising a nonprofit is quite an adventure!
There are exciting beginnings, growing pains, unexpected turns,
and moments when even the most experienced leaders wonder what comes next.
Sometimes you need a fresh perspective.
Sometimes you need someone who has been there before.
And sometimes you just need a good thinking partner who can help you see things a little differently.
That's where I come in.
I've spent more than two decades building, leading, growing, and supporting nonprofit organizations.
Along the way, I've learned that there's rarely just one right way forward.
Every organization has its own story, strengths, challenges, and opportunities.
My approach is relational, practical, and grounded in abundance.
I bring experience, curiosity, and a willingness to roll up my sleeves alongside you.
Because there's more than one way to raise a nonprofit!

Board Support
Leadership can be rewarding, complicated, and sometimes a little lonely. Even experienced leaders benefit from having someone alongside them who understands the work and can offer a thoughtful space to reflect.
Reflective Mentorship creates room to slow down, think aloud, explore challenges, celebrate successes, and consider new perspectives. Grounded in relationship-based practice, these conversations support both the person and the leader, recognizing that our experiences, relationships, and ways of showing up influence how we lead.
It's not about having someone tell you what to do. It's about having a trusted thinking partner who helps you discover what you already know, consider what you haven't yet explored, and find your own way forward.
Reflective Mentorship
Stepping into an executive leadership role is an adventure all its own!
Whether you're a first-time Executive Director or an experienced leader joining a new organization, those early months bring a unique mix of opportunities, expectations, relationships, and decisions.
Executive Onboarding provides individualized support as you get to know your organization, establish relationships with your board and team, understand financial and operational responsibilities, and begin setting priorities.
Together, we'll think through what deserves your attention now, what can wait, and how to build a strong foundation without feeling like you have to figure everything out on your own.
Executive Onboarding for
New Executives
Big ideas are exciting. Figuring out how to make them work in everyday organizational life? That's where things can get interesting!
Strategy & Operations Coaching helps connect your organization's vision and priorities with the systems, structures, people, and resources needed to support them.
We might explore organizational workflows, staffing structures, financial practices, decision-making, communication, accountability, or the many moving parts that influence how an organization functions.
The goal isn't to create more work or more complicated systems. It's to help your organization operate in ways that support its purpose, make good use of its resources, and give people room to do their best work.
Strategy & Operations Coaching
Every leader encounters moments when a fresh perspective can make all the difference.
Executive Coaching offers individualized, practical support for navigating complex decisions, strengthening leadership approaches, managing competing priorities, and responding to the unexpected.
Our work begins with your goals and the realities of your organization. Through thoughtful questions, honest conversations, and shared problem-solving, we'll explore opportunities, consider different approaches, and identify steps that fit your leadership style and circumstances.
Whether you're growing into a new role, navigating a difficult season, or preparing for what's next, coaching provides a place to think strategically while continuing to grow as a leader.
Executive Coaching
Leadership transitions are important moments in an organization's story. They can bring uncertainty, fresh energy, difficult decisions, and opportunities to think differently about what comes next.
I provide experienced executive guidance and interim leadership support to help organizations maintain stability, strengthen operations, and navigate change with intention.
Support may include working alongside boards during executive transitions, assessing organizational needs, supporting staff and leadership teams, clarifying priorities, strengthening internal systems, or temporarily stepping into executive responsibilities.
Whether a transition is planned or unexpected, the focus is on caring for the organization, its people, and its relationships while preparing for a healthy next chapter.

Governance
&
Organizational
Development
A healthy nonprofit depends on a strong partnership between its board and executive leadership. But that partnership doesn't happen automatically. It takes shared understanding, trust, clear expectations, and a willingness to keep learning together.
I help boards strengthen their understanding of governance responsibilities, clarify the distinction between governance and operations, and develop practices that support thoughtful oversight and effective leadership.
Our work may include board roles and responsibilities, committee structures, recruitment and onboarding, bylaws, board policies, meeting practices, financial oversight, and board-executive relationships.
Rather than approaching governance as simply a collection of rules and requirements, we'll consider how your board can become a more connected, confident, and effective partner in advancing your organization's purpose.
Governance & Board Development
Sometimes the most valuable thing a board can do is step away from its regular agenda and make room for a different kind of conversation.
Board retreats create space to reconnect with organizational purpose, strengthen relationships, explore important questions, and think together about the future.
Each retreat is designed around your organization's circumstances and goals. We might focus on governance, board culture, strategic direction, organizational growth, leadership transitions, or opportunities that deserve thoughtful consideration.
My facilitation approach is conversational, participatory, and grounded in the belief that everyone brings something valuable to the discussion.
The goal is for board members to leave with stronger connections, greater clarity, and a shared understanding of what comes next.
Board Retreats
Good policies should help an organization function well, protect its people and resources, and provide clarity when questions arise.
But policies can also become overly complicated, outdated, or disconnected from how an organization actually operates.
I work with nonprofit leaders and boards to develop, review, and strengthen policies that reflect organizational needs, governance responsibilities, and sound nonprofit practices.
This may include governance policies, financial controls, personnel practices, operational procedures, conflict-of-interest policies, and other foundational documents.
The emphasis is on creating practical, understandable policies that people can actually use, with appropriate legal or professional review when needed.
Policy Development Support
Organizations grow. Circumstances change. New opportunities emerge. And sometimes the strategic plan that once made perfect sense no longer reflects where you are today.
A Strategic Planning Refresh offers an opportunity to revisit your existing direction without necessarily starting over.
Together, we'll consider what's been accomplished, what's changed, which priorities remain relevant, and where adjustments might help your organization move forward.
This process can include leadership and board conversations, a review of existing goals, consideration of organizational capacity, and the development of updated priorities and practical next steps.
Sometimes a little fresh thinking is all that's needed to bring new energy and clarity to the work ahead.

Strategic Direction
Organizational Roadmaps
Every organization has a story, strengths to build upon, and possibilities waiting to be discovered.
My Organizational Roadmap process brings people together to reflect on where they've been, understand where they are, and imagine where they want to go. Through thoughtful conversations, shared learning, and a spirit of abundance, we uncover strengths, recognize opportunities, and begin mapping a strategy forward, together.
A Roadmap isn't a traditional strategic plan.
It's a relationship-centered, collaborative process that recognizes the wisdom, experience, and resources people already bring to the work. Rather than beginning with what an organization lacks, we explore what's already working, what people care about, and what becomes possible when we bring our strengths together.
Along the way, we strengthen connections, identify shared priorities, and build ownership of the direction ahead. The result is more than a document. It's a shared understanding of where we're going, why we're going there, and how we'll move forward together.
Roadmap engagements can include:
Organizational, community, and network-wide listening sessions
Strengths, opportunities, and existing resources assessments
Leadership, board, partner, and stakeholder engagement
Shared vision and strategic direction
Identification of collective priorities and opportunities for collaboration
Practical steps, responsibilities, and strategies for moving forward
A customized, visually engaging Roadmap document that tells the story of the journey
Follow-up support to bring the Roadmap to life
Whether your organization is just beginning, navigating change, strengthening an established network, or preparing for its next chapter, a Roadmap creates space to listen, connect, imagine, and find a shared way forward.
Because the journey is stronger
when we map it together.
Finding our way forward. Together.

Leading with Abundance
What changes when we begin with what we have instead of what we lack?
Leading with Abundance invites nonprofit leaders, boards, and teams to challenge scarcity thinking and discover the strengths, relationships, experiences, and opportunities already within their reach.
Through storytelling, reflection, and interactive learning, participants explore how an abundance mindset can influence leadership, organizational culture, decision-making, collaboration, and the way we respond to challenges.
Available as a keynote, workshop, multi-session learning experience, or ongoing consultation.
Leading with Abundance
A place to experiment with what's possible.
The Abundance Lab takes the ideas behind Leading with Abundance and puts them to work.
Part learning experience, part creative workshop, and part collaborative problem-solving space, the Lab invites participants to bring real organizational challenges, emerging ideas, and opportunities into a setting where curiosity and experimentation are encouraged.
Together, we'll look beyond the usual assumptions, discover underused strengths and resources, make unexpected connections, and test new ways of approaching familiar challenges.
The Lab can be designed for leadership teams, boards, individual organizations, or groups of nonprofit leaders who want to think and work differently.
Rather than leaving with a list of things we should do, participants leave with ideas they've helped develop and practical experiments they can begin putting into action.
The Abundance Lab
A little space to think can make a big difference.
Leadership doesn't come with all the answers, and it shouldn't have to be a solitary journey.
Reflective Leadership Circles bring small groups of nonprofit leaders together for facilitated conversations about the experiences, relationships, decisions, and challenges that shape their work.
Rather than another meeting filled with presentations and assignments, these circles create room for reflection, peer connection, shared wisdom, and thoughtful exploration.
Available as a short series or ongoing facilitated experience for leaders who value learning with and from one another.
Reflective Leadership Circles
Boards and executive leaders bring different experiences, responsibilities, and perspectives to their work. Creating opportunities to learn together can strengthen understanding, trust, and shared accountability.
These customized learning experiences help boards and leadership teams explore governance, leadership partnerships, organizational culture, financial stewardship, decision-making, and the responsibilities that come with guiding a nonprofit.
Sessions can be designed for new boards, established organizations, leadership teams, or groups preparing for change.

Academy
There's more than one way to raise a nonprofit, and we can learn a great deal from one another along the way!
The Nonprofit Leaders Academy is a cohort-based learning experience designed for nonprofit leaders at different stages of their leadership and organizational journeys.
Drawing on the developmental approach of Raising a Nonprofit, the Academy combines practical nonprofit knowledge, storytelling, thoughtful conversations, and peer learning. Participants bring their own experiences to the conversation while building relationships with others navigating the adventures of nonprofit leadership.
The Academy offers two four-session learning experiences that build upon one another:
The Bridge | Part One — 4 Sessions
An introduction to the foundations of raising and leading a nonprofit. Together, we'll explore nonprofit language, leadership, governance, organizational culture, relationships, communication, and financial understanding.
The Journey | Part Two — 4 Sessions
A deeper exploration of organizational growth, sustainability, strategic thinking, collaboration, and leadership. Building on The Bridge, participants examine how to apply what they've learned to the realities and opportunities of their own organizations.
Along the way, we'll explore topics such as Magic Math (nonprofit budgeting), organizational developmental stages, relationship-based leadership, and Intentional Serendipity—creating the conditions for meaningful connections and unexpected opportunities.
The Academy can be offered to a cohort of leaders from different organizations or adapted for a network or group with shared interests.
Because learning is richer when we bring our experiences, questions, and ideas together.
Bring the questions. We'll shape the learning together.
Not every organization needs a full Academy or extended learning experience. Sometimes a focused workshop, interactive session, or series of conversations is exactly what's needed.
I design customized learning experiences around the realities of nonprofit leadership and organizational development.
Topics might include relationship-based leadership, organizational culture, governance, nonprofit finances, strategic thinking, sustainability, collaboration, executive transitions, and building organizations through a spirit of abundance.
Sessions can be offered virtually or in person and tailored to individual organizations, networks, conferences, and leadership gatherings.
Custom Workshops & Professional Learning
Good facilitation is about more than keeping a meeting on track. It's about creating the conditions for people to listen, contribute, think differently, and discover shared direction.
I design and facilitate retreats, listening sessions, planning conversations, collaborative gatherings, and learning experiences that bring people and ideas together.
Whether we're navigating a difficult question, imagining a new initiative, strengthening a partnership, or finding our way through change, the process is designed around the people in the room and the purpose that brought them together.
A little structure, a lot of listening, and room for the unexpected discoveries that make conversations meaningful.
Facilitation & Collaborative Conversations
What Does Working Together Look Like?
It starts with a conversation.
We'll talk about what's happening in your organization, what you're hoping to accomplish, what's working well, and where a little additional support might make a difference.
Sometimes that conversation leads to a clearly defined project. Other times, we discover that a different approach makes more sense.
The goal isn't to arrive with all the answers. It's to bring our experiences, perspectives, and strengths together and find a way forward that fits your organization.
No cookie-cutter solutions. No unnecessary complications. Just thoughtful partnership and practical support.
Pull Up a Chair. Let's Talk.
Whether you're nurturing a new idea, navigating a transition, strengthening your organization, or imagining what might come next, I'd welcome the conversation.
You never know what a little curiosity, a good connection, and a spirit of abundance might make possible.
